Hey All!!! Looking for a quick word of advice. I'm needing to downsize from an F-150 to a more economical commuter car (new job on the other side of the city, all interstate driving, 45 mi. round trip). I want something reliable and of course economical. I'm not too versed in economy cars (my old job did require the utility of a truck). I am currently looking at a used 2019 Toyota C-HR with 18k miles (private seller). I like the hatchback body style (little more practicality) and it is cheaper (the price is fair for a newer used car with this mileage) than any used Corolla hatchbacks I can find where I live. I'm not familiar with the C-HR other than I know they are a newer Toyota model and get fairly decent gas mileage while still offering the practical hatch body style. I know Toyota's are known for their reliability but again I know this is a newer model (I can verify from the VIN the car was made in Japan, not Turkey). Should I give this car a serious look or keep on looking?? Thanks in advance, love the channel Scotty and this website is awesome!!!!
Serious look? Yes. Quirky hatchback, … don’t pay too much, quirkiness does not sell for much down the line, … if you ever decide to let it go. Have it checked through and trough by an independent mechanic, … mandatory!

Thank-you for the prompt reply. I'm not too worried about the quirky look Lol!! I keep my vehicles for a long time (have had my F-150 for 12 years with 160K miles). I will defiantly pursue if my mechanic give me the all clear. He gave me the same advice but just wanted another opinion:)
At least, in my end of woods, these cars - new - don’t sell too well. When push come to a shove, … dealers let them go at considerable discount. 10%+ is not unheard of if a pesky cash buyer persists. Consequently, … just perhaps, a visit to a local Toyota Emporium may be of value? Dunno, …
Best,

The chr could be reliable but it is not practical at all. Take a look at the Honda HR-V which can be got cheaper, is very reliable, has better highway fuel economy, and is A LOT more practical.
