Hi Scotty. In 2016 I bought a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek with 14000 mi. It now has 103000 mi, mostly highway. I recall you saying in videos trans fluid should be changed around 60000 mi. Mine is still the original fluid. Not wanting to cause the problems you describe involving new fluid in a trans with higher miles, what about removing and adding the same amount, like a quart or so a week, at a time so its done gradually? I should also say the car runs and shifts great, never any issues, but I'd like to keep it for the foreseeable future for my girlfriend to drive.
Love your YouTube channel.

If the fluid is clean by color standards, change it.
Just make sure you use synthetic fluid.
A full flush only if the color is good.....
If you want to change it, the way you mention it is the safe method.
The change interval is different for each vehicle. Look in the owner's manual to find out yours. Subaru's have complex drive systems, so you likely have a few fluids to change.
