I bought a used 2016 T-150 (with 160K Miles) from a reputable nearby town municipality. I knew it had some problems - due to the high pitched sound (like a clacking) emanating from head area. Not from turbos; nor from lower end.
A good independent Ontario garage is in the midst of resolving this problem.The Vacuum pump was found faulty. Many pieces of shredded plastic inside it. Now, with new pump, the sound only occurs when turbos boost. They think it may caused by broken/ cracked baffles in the intake manifolds - vibrating under the turbo load. Your thoughts. They say that they find no reference this type of problem in the Ford Technicians' forums that they belong to.
PS not timing (two steps left on tensioner.) Not compression -tested good
well realize when it's shredded it could have sent parts into the turbo which will make noise I would leave it alone as long as it works
