Dear Scotty, I just viewed ur video about the 5 things not to do with auto transmission. I heard somewhere that u should always use ur parking brake when parking , even on the flat for the good of ur trans. Is this accurate info? Love that u share ur knowledge- thank u from PA, 2019 tacoma trd off road w/auto transmission.

That is a good idea. I personally do that

I do it, too. When you realize how small a parking pawl is, and people who park on slopes without engaging the parking brake first, there's only a few millimeters between a safe car, and a car that rolls away. I always engage my parking brake.

I don't even think about it, like buckling my seat belt, I pull the parking brake every time I stop.

Also if you live in a place that gets inspections, if you don't use the parking brake, I hear it cause cause it to break eventually. Maybe that is just up in the rusty north.
