Scotty, Since I really consider you the Sherlock Holmes of the automotive industry, I told my husband we need to get your advice.
We recently purchased a travel trailer, 2,400 Lbs. We’d like to tow it with our 2017 Ford Escape Ecoboost 2.0. Adding a transmission cooler will allow us tow 3500 lbs., according to Ford. Two questions: do you recommend going with the Ford branded transmission cooler, or a possibly higher capacity aftermarket product? Also, what do you think are safe maximum temperatures for the transmission while towing? There seems to be a lot of conflicting information on the Internet. Thanks! Diane

you don't really want to see temps go above 230f for very long.

Dont forget about all the other stuff you will be hauling for added weight. Towing long distances with a turbo charged engine is also hard on the engine as well. If your doing only small trips (100 -300 miles) I would go with the Ford Branded for proper fit.
