I recently bought a 2012 Honda Civic lx 5 speed automatic transmission used with 70,000 miles. I do not know if the transmission fluid has been previously changed. Should I change it now?

Yes change it. If its a CVT tranny its a little more complicated as there is no dipstick. Get the fluid from Honda.Its expensive, I got a 4 liter can for my Carolla and it was $98.00. If its not a CVT tranny its much easier to change but again I would get the fluid from honda

If you do change it, use only the OEM Honda fluid (I think DW-1, but verify with your owner’s manual).

Change it and make sure to only use genuine Honda fluid.
