Hello
Is there such a thing as a life time transmission fluid?
I had a customer a few days ago asking me if he should change his transmission fluid, he has a 2017 VW Tiguan with a DSG transmission, he said he went to the dealership and they told him it's a life time fluid, i checked the car's manual, nothing in there, Scotty always recommend changing it every 40k-50k miles, but idk if there's something special or specific about those DSGs i should know about before doing anything
When manufacturers and dealers talk about "lifetime" fluid the lifetime they are concerned about is the warranty period. After that they don't care. If you care, change the fluid regularly.
No, unless the "lifetime" of the transmission is 40-50,000 miles.
Is there such a thing as a life time transmission fluid?
Oh absolutely there is!
But that lifetime is going to be very short.

Yep. funnily enough, there’s nothing special about the “lifetime fluid” - it’s actually the same fluid type and spec as regular automatics that require regular fluid changes.
(In most cases**)
There is no such thing as lifetime transmission fluid, unless you want the car/transmission to only last the warranty period.
