I just bought a 2015 Toyota Avalon v6 with 112,000 miles, when the car is cold it sometimes shifts rough, and it takes a few seconds for the transmission to go from park or reverse to drive. I’m thinking about changing the transmission fluid and filter, would this cause the transmission to slip? Also, what type of transmission fluid should I put in? Should I use the Toyota “genuine” fluid?

See the FAQ entry on changing transmission fluid. If you proceed, Toyota OEM fluid would be best.
