I have a used 2005 Chevy blazier with a manual transmission. Od is ~150000 km or ~93000 miles, runs great, getting rusty tho underneath.
Main concern I have is that every so often when im shifting from 3rd to 2nd after slowing down second gear grinds when trying to shift into it. I put the stick in N and then back to 2nd and it usually works. Why is this? Had the car for almost 2 years and happens once a month or so. Happened today 3 times in a row when heading to work in the morning which is why I am asking this question. Did not happen at all when driving home.
I should clarify something, it ONLY happens when shifting from 3rd to 2nd, never 1st to 2nd, and never in any other gears
It sounds like the synchros that facilitate that particular down shift are wearing out. Try adjusting the clutch to specifications and see if that helps. It ma not be disengaging properly.
