Transmission out on a 2015 Honda fit

Bought a few years ago, currently at 165k mileage, dealership quoted me 7500 (for replacement transmission and rear suspension leaking).

question A: crazy to me that a hondas transmission blows up at only 160k, do you think honda will do anything to help me out?

question B: Would you repair the car or buy something used to replace it? and what would you buy used today to replace it (looking for good gas mileage and lots of interior space, a little extra clearance wouldn't hurt either)?

Would like to spend around 10k (looking seems like ill be buying something older than my current car at this price), but i suppose i could be willing to get a car payment for something that checks all the boxes for as much as 25k

That car has one of Honda's early CVTs so it's really not much of a surprise for it to fail at 165K miles, especially if it had not been serviced on a regular basis.

The kbb.com site pegs the "fair dealer price" of a 2015 Honda Fit at about $8500. I would not put $7500 into that vehicle.
