Hey I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500hd 6.0 gas 170k miles. When I put the truck in gear it doesn’t react, you don’t feel it kick in gear and the rpms don’t change or anything. The truck does go and seems to shift fine while driving. Any insight on why it does this? I’ve never had a vehicle where you literally can’t feel it go into gear. Transmission fluid reads full.

It should have been changed every 40,000 miles.

It's overdue for the transmission fluid (and filter if so equipped) to be changed. I'd get that done ASAP.

When was the last trans fluid and filter service?
I just bought the truck but I checked service records and looks like 100k miles it was changed
