Hi my friend has a 1989 chevy k1500 5.7L V8 and has problems with the transmission not wanting to shift into 2nd or 3rd gear the transmission is an automatic by the way. It does shift into reverse and goes into 1st but i'm not sure what the issue can be.

What a surprise. An automatic transmission problem on a 32 year old truck. Shocking. Answer - new transmission.
LOL yeah that was what I was thinking too. It's why I like having manual transmissions.
Manual transmissions rock!
