ive a 2002 civic lx sedan driven 183km .
Bought from previous owner. My car us going on ok. But I’m having 2 major problems
1 picks up gear at high rpms
2 when coming from high surface to flat road at high speed between 100-120. If i put my foot on gas to maintain or take it a little more than 120. It stops accelerating. Speed starts decreasing. Then it takes time to readjust itself for 1-2 mins on highway then it remains bwtwem 100-120km /h. I think this is transmission problem and it needs to be changed what i think.
Did you scan the vehicle for any codes?
Codes like scanning tool? No, i was new to cars

Your description indicates the transmission may be slipping. Take the car to a transmission specialist for diagnosis.
What do you guys think should i spend money on this car more or should i buy a 2013 civic?
It's 20 years old, not worth spending money on a transmission but you want to be sure that's what the problem is.
If you have a nice enough scan tool that can read transmission codes then use that to see if there’s any codes if you don’t have a nice enough scan tool you can either get one or go to a mechanic you trust to read the codes. But from the sounds of it, it could be a transmission issue. Also when it stops speeding up does it rev up like the transmission is slipping?
No it doesn’t rev or anything. It starts going again but it’s a bit risky to be in slower speed on highways
Yeah I’m not to familiar with transmission stuff like other than what I’ve said so I’m going to leave this with someone else.

When was the last time you performed a complete tune up and replaced all filters? Have you pressure tested the fuel pump?
