Transmission question

I have a 2006 C55 AMG that has 155K miles on it. Recently I was entering the freeway when I struck a wood log that was in the middle of the merge lane (it was night time and I hit it as I turned my head to check my blind spot). It destroyed my front bumper, radiator and AC pulley. Replaced the radiator and pulley and all looked/sounded good on start-up. However, during test drive, when going from 2nd to 3rd gear RPM's spike shortly, it jumps to neutral for a few seconds after the gear transition and then it slows and then resumes to engage into 2nd gear. When I am able to get the car into 3rd gear or beyond the transition from 2nd to 3rd gear has a pause. From there up to 80mps @ 4-6k RPM's is fine. There was no damage to the undercarriage, oil pan or frame from the collision and I'm wondering what could be causing the issue. Fluid levels appear good (oil and trans). Thoughts on what I can check or what it could be?

No codes or check engine indicators

Appreciate any ideas you might have on what to get after.

Well that's a Mercedes and they're very complex. There's wiring there's sensors on the transmission and I don't know what was hit. If it hit the oil pan on the transmission, it probably did internal damage to the transmission too. Hopefully a full coverage and insurance will pay for it. Otherwise you might need a new transmission
