I am considering buying a new 2024 Hybrid RAV4 XLE for $37,400 or saving some money and getting a used 2015 RAV4 XLE for with 70k miles for $17,200. 

I test drove both cars and the newer car is more spacious and better acceleration. The used car is in good shape(got it checked out by a mechanic-needs new motor mounts and brake rotors).

While I can finance and afford the new car at 5% interest rate, the older model will keep me debt free. 

I will mostly be using the car to get to work and back which can be some traffic, mostly looking for a reliable car that will last me the next decade. 

Is the newer 2024 RAV4 Hybrid worth getting when with taxes and interest rate I am looking at approximately $42,000 vs $20,000?
