Hey Scotty. I have 2015 Toyota Highlander with the 3.5L V6 engine with automatic transmission that has just over 85,000 miles. I was watching videos on how to flush and change the transmission fluid and change the filter. Since this does not have a dipstick I was just wanting your opinion for the proper procedure for this fluid change. Any tips and suggestions would be helpful.
FYI, we purchased this Highlander to replace the crappy Nissan Rogue that we have since traded off.
Do not flush it. Just drain and refill.
Agreed. There is probably a filter for that year. check your service manual for the recommended replacement interval
@imperator
I can say that so far everything is working fine afterwards. We will see what happens.
also should have done it about 100k ago.
Hey Scotty. I have a 2015 Toyota Highlander 3.5L V6 with an automatic transmission with almost 150,000 miles. I just flushed and changed the transmission fluid using Amsoil automatic transmission fluid that meets the Toyota WS specifications. I changed the filter, the filter o-ring, and pan gasket with OEM parts. The flush that I performed from watching another video was to flush out the old fluid with new fluid and not use detergents like dealerships. The vehicle is shifting great. What are your thoughts on Amsoil products? The dealership wanted over $320.00 to flush the transmission with detergent or cleaning solution, and fill the transmission up without changing the filter.
