Hey Scotty,
Question for you on automatic transmission solenoids. I've got a 2002 Sequoia that's coding P0770, "Shift solenoid E malfunction". Besides the CEL, the Toyota runs and drives as it should. Some folks say that the solenoid is fine and that I'll need a new transmission, others say they've had good luck just replacing the solenoid. What's your experienced take on this problem? Thanks!

You need to scan the transmission by a pro to find out the exact issue and solution for that.

every situation is different and needs to be diagnosed. There is no one solution that fixes everything.
The trouble message is a clue in a puzzle, not an instruction how to fix something.
