I have a 2014 Scion tC manual with 81000 on it my check engine light came on and I ran the scanner then got the code P0172 it then went away for a little bit and came back now it’s gone again what is going on do I need to go to a mechanic?

Read the page linked below, but the first thing I'd do is clean the MAF and throttle body with some spray cleaner before going on to any more involved/expensive fixing.
