Scotty, have you had any experience with 1Aauto.com or their line of TRQ parts?
I have a 2010 Toyota Tacoma with the 4.0 V6 (1GR-FE) 4WD, with 28X,XXX miles on it. And now everything around the front suspension needs to be replaced. Upper and Lower control arms, and ball joints, and both shocks. Budget is thin but I’d prefer to cry once and buy the right parts the first time.
Thanks!
I’m not a big fan of 1AAuto. I tried them once for some after market side view mirror assembly. The mirror jiggles. Which leads me to believe their stuff isn’t of the highest quality. It could be I just got the cheap one or bad one, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.
For shocks/struts, I highly recommend KYB.
For ball joints, control arms, I can’t really give a recommendation. I haven’t found one I completely trust. The MOOG ball joint started leaking right away. I am trying out Mevotech mid tier front end package, per a recommendation from YouTuber ChrisFix, which I did an almost full suspension rebuild.
If you want to be completely safe, OEM would be best, but that is $$$.
"TRQ" is probably a Chinese knockoff of "TRW". Like "Sorny" headphones and "Toceba" AA and AAA batteries commonly found at flea markets.
As @kaizen discovered, Moog quality has gone way downhill in recent years. A shame, they used to be among the best but it's been a race to the bottom in price and quality for a lot of formerly good brands. Hard to say what's decent these days aside from OEM.
