Alright so I have recently replaced all of the MDS solenoids in my 06 ram with the 5.7. When I put it back together it missed terribly and shook real bad. I have determined the problem was dirty injector plugs cuz I sprayed the connector with some throttle body clean and that for the most part fixed it. But now I have been noticing that it has a jitter while idling and it often drops to 500 rpm’s when I come to a stop, like a traffic light. If I give it a little throttle it goes up to 650ish where is should be and stays. I’m not sure what the problem is. I have recently replaced the throttle body and there aren’t any codes. I’m really lost. I do have a small exhaust leak but that shouldn’t cause this problem to my knowledge. I need some help and I don’t really want to take it to the shop. Just making this clear, it didn’t have these issues before I made the repair with the MDS solenoids but it’s not those because when I disable the MDS, this problem still occurs.
Believe it or not start by repairing the exhaust leak cuz if you do have a leak that changes the residual oxygen in the exhaust system which will mess with the oxygen sensors that can cause exactly that
Alright, I fixed that but it didn’t change anything. Spose I can add more details because I think they are all related. On top of what I have said before, from what I can describe it also loses power as higher speeds when I go to accelerate. I think it shifts up instead of down, or at least that’s what it acts like, I don’t actually feel it shift. But after all of that if I just put the petal at 75 - 100% throttle it does what it should. When It jitters during idle, it is in the edge of normal. It just feels like it’s too much to be normal. If you have any other questions on what it does if I do something specific while driving just ask.
During that weird stage of it not accelerating like it should, unless I goose it like I said, it shakes real bad and does still accelerate but does so very slowly.
NEVER spray connectors with throttle body cleaner. Only use spray cleaner made for electronics. Go back and double check your work. If something works before you touched it and doesn't after it almost certain you broke something or messed up along the line. Check your vacuum lines and all connections. Did you clean or mess around with the throttle body?
