Hi! I bought my Dad’s 2011 F150 V8 Lariat. It has 105k miles. It’s been 5 months and I can’t get the musty/mildew smell out. I’ve had it detailed, I’ve laid pans of baking soda in it for hours. Nothing helps. It’s doesn’t have cabin air filtration. Any ideas?

Open the vent to fresh air position, turn the fan on high, shut the door and spray some Ozium into the intake vents below the windshield.  Ozium (blue and white can) is available at most auto parts stores.

is the odor coming from the vents, or from the carpet?

From the vents I think. Just saw Scotty’s video on the Ozone generator. Think I’ll go that route.

if the odor comes from the vents, then your evaporator core is colonized by microbes
You need to spray foaming cleaner+disinfectant into it with a long tube to clean it off and kill the fungus & algae.

Ozone won't do it
