I have a charging issue with my 1969 Jeep gladiator. I initially replaced the alternator earlier this year, and now I’ve gone through 4. After a lot of bench testing and replacing components such as both battery cables, all of the connections on the back of the alternator, the external voltage regulator, the ignition switch, and the amp light in the cab that indicates charging. Nothing has worked. What would be causing the truck to keep blowing alternator diodes? I checked with a multimeter all of the wires going there and through the regulator have continuity.
How old is your battery?
3 years I believe
