Is 205,000 miles considered high mileage for a '09 Corolla with a 5 speed manual? I've heard you say they can last forever but I just want to be sure. The seller wants 5500$ for it.
Jump on it if a professional mechanic checks out the car thoroughly, before purchase.
For a manual Corolla, that’s low mileage. Especially if the engine is still in great shape.

It depends. Corollas can last a very very long time (maybe even double that) if maintained. However, if they are abused and not maintained, then they fall apart before 200.000 miles. This is why like @@inthrustwetrust said you need a mechanic to inspect it. I had experience with a 90s Corolla and it blew a head gasket around 160.000 miles. Why? Because it wasn't maintained. In the meantime, the same generation Corollas are at 500.000miles in Asia.
