Car: 2017 chevy Silverado 1500 ltz 4x4 5.3
I was pulling out of a parking lot the other day. The tryck was in all wheel drive (not 4wd) and then it shifted itself into 4wd low for some reason. It still says that it’s in all wheel drive but it grinds when it turns and is geared low. What could be the cause of this?

And it won’t come out of 4wd low even in neutral

usually a failed shift motor in the transfer case
