Hi guys I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7 L 160k miles. I have two problems with my Ram.
1. sometimes when I press the gas at idle the truck wants to turn off (goes as low as 400rpm) or sometimes it turns off and starts on.
2. My other problem is that my transmission revolution goes as high as 3000-3200rpm and it finally gives the change. The truck was diagnosed with P0700& P0740 which is the transmission clutch solenoid not locking. My question is can this be the cause of the problem, if so, where’s the transmission clutch solenoid located at ? (Picture if available please)
Check throttle body for carbon and clean it. Do you have a code read that can read the throttle position sensor? the 2 areas I'd concentrate on first.
Fluid and filter change trans and hope on codes...
