Hi Scotty, big fan of the show... my 2017 Chevy Impala Premier runs like a dream, I have one problem, when it rains here in Murfreesboro, my trunk fills up with water where the spare is. I’ve checked the seals, they’re all good. I’ve checked the undercarriage to see if there are any holes anywhere... Where is this water coming from? How do I fix this?
Find someone you trust. Get in the trunk with a flashlight. Have your assistant spray water reasonably hard from a hose all over and around your trunk. Chances are you will find the source. Ask assistant to let you out.
The last part is important. Maybe hold onto their wallet for collateral.
I'd say passport too, just to be safe. 🙂
Classic!
Does your trunk have a side vent in the inner fender well, behind the liner? My 2014 Camry does and was leaking there.
You say the seals are good. Are you sure they are fully pressed down in place along the backside of the trunk? If not, water can get underneath it and into your trunk. I've seen that a few times.
You can just gently press it to see of it moves down into position or if it is firmly in place.
I thought that might’ve been the problem as well... checked that as well, nothing. It seems that’s the water is coming somewhere from within the spare area.
Well, all you need is some way to safely heat up the water & you’ve got a free hot tub!
Check the rubber beading behind your tail lamps. Unless a magician is playing a trick, water is coming in from somewhere.
