So what do you think about these catch cans between the PCV and the air intake. Mom's 64 Plymouth had a breather that just vented the crankcase fumes. We got 26 years out of that car and the engine was still good when we junked it. I took it upstate New York Morrisville to be exact for college. It rotted out big time but the the engine and training had 600K on them when we retired Betsy in 1980.
Oil catch cans are only needed on GDI motors because the gas does not wash over and clean the intake valves.
What do you think of these Fumoto Valves that replace the oil drain plug? I am looking for that adapter so I can put on a spin on oil filter and get rid of the cartridge.

The Fumoto valves may be OK but I'd be leery of putting in a valve that can fail or maybe opened by a piece of road debris and drain all of your engine oil out into the road.
You might repost this as a separate question... But I installed a Fumoto valve on both my WRX and my daughter’s Crosstrek and am very happy with them. We can change the oil with no tools - very quick and easy. Just make sure you get the right length nipple so it doesn’t hang down where it can be damaged, and make sure to close it properly and install the safety clip.
