Hi Scotty,
I have a Toyota Highlander '04 with 160k miles in NYC.
Yesterday I used the unlock button on my keys to open all doors but the trunk is not unlocking. All the other doors unlocked.
I can't open with regular car keys cause they don't fit. Former owner probably had some key situation.
Anyway how can I unlock the trunk and make it work again?
Thanks in advance for your help 😁

From the inside of your trunk, see if there is a panel in the lower center of the trunk. If there is, there may be a wire or mechanism to release the trunk. You may able to see if the latch is broken or the actuator is broken or maybe a connection of some sort.
Not sure if this would work for the Highlander, but other cars have this thing built in them.
