Thinking about buying a Toyota Tundra from a dealer. Limited, 2015, clean title, 185000 miles on odometer.
The cost is around 22K (Partially corroborates through KBB value).
Is it a good buy or a "money sink"? what to look for when buying this car?
What websites did you look for these?
Good trucks but thats alot of millage, if service records are available that'll help. how is it spec'd out? V8, 4WD, fully loaded or closer to base? Seems like alot but im not sure what those tundras really go for anyway...
V8 4WD, Limited trim, fully loaded. I have to see the records.
Always have any used vehicle inspected by a honest professional mechanic, before purchase. More so in these crazy times when the asking price has skyrocketed.
I always try to think about how much damage can be done to a car over 100,000 miles if it hasn't been maintained well. Although the Tundras are pretty much indistructable, they might have been serviced only a few times, and are only starting to show problems now at this mileage.
I was looking at some LS400 cars over here in the UK that had been owned by snobby families that obviously never serviced them. And you could see that they were starting to show oil burning problems and issues at high mileage, but the engines were so well made they just lasted that long.
You probably shouldn't think of buying used vehicles from dealerships first of all cause most of the used vehicles are crazy expensive. Also, you are not going to know what problems you may witness in any type of used vehicle. If I were you, I would buy it from a private seller and check with a mechanic.
