Getting ready to replace the exhaust oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2. This sensor goes into the side of the passenger side catalytic converter through the heat shield. Does the plate and gasket have to come out or can I just remove the sensor. If the sensor screws into the plate or is it built into the plate is what I am trying to figure out? Don't want to remove heat shield and mounting plate unless necessary.

Well I'm a mechanic so I have a set of oxygen sensor replace sockets.. they do unscrew. She might go to an auto parts store and see if they have one that you can buy that fits your car, bring the vehicle and then see if you can find one. That'll go on there and give you enough working room to get it off
