So a few months back I got in my truck and felt it go to limp mode when I fired it up along with a loud winning noise coming out of the engine. After some work I swapped out the air injection Bypass pump there was so.e kind of switching valve that I cleaned out some foam that was dislodged in them, put everything back together and it was good for a bit the. Again started getting the check engine light and codes for the bypass pump with limp mode. Can there be more of this foam, why do I keep getting these errors. It was a pain in the ass getting to the pump and valve and don't really want to do so again until I have a sense of what to look for.

The pumps and the valves on those systems fail all the time it was a horrible design. Generally they need replacing with new units to work correctly but a vehicle runs fine it's just anti-pollution crap anyway
