Tundra Engine Problem

I have a 2008 Tundra, 5.7L with 183k on it.  Owned it since 18k.

Had some misfires & lost power.  Plugs/coil did not fix it.  Took it to Toyota Dealer & they found a bad exhaust valve spring on cylinder #5.

Should I fix all the springs while it’s apart or just the bad one.  I have about 25k towing a 7k camper with this truck. Is this a symptom of towing?  I love the truck & want to keep it, especially is this crazy car market.

Thanks!

Depends on how many times you want to do the job.  To replace one spring, they bring your #5 to TDC, fill the cylinder with compressed air to hold the valve closed, then remove the keeper, replace the spring and keeper and put it back together.  If it were me, and I wanted to keep the truck, I would pull the heads, have them rebuilt, and install them with arp studs and new head gaskets.  This way, you're not waiting for the next valve spring to go bad.
