2014 v6 Camaro 117,00 miles I just bought this car about three months ago and I love the car overall but I haven’t gone a paycheck without fixing it so I know it’s a used car and maintenance is necessary but I needed a new wheel bearing and then I got engine misfires and it started to get bad so first get spark plugs changed and it runs a little better still getting misfires then oil change and oil filter change at first oil filter wouldn’t come out was told it looked like it was never changed before and I have only had it for three months 5,00 miles driven and so at first he thought he was going to have to break the cap and then got the filter out it was terrible little metal pieces very dry old so basically got that done and the back brakes and rotors all done in three months but now after new sparks new oil and new filter it definitely runs better can actually control it and drive but still when I accelerate at a high fast speed oil pressure hits a max pressure mine is measured on a bar scale I looked it up said should be in the 4 range and so I get a 6 when I press gas down like any more then a small amount and I can control it better and get it down and still catch speed but if it hits 6 then it misfires or sputters I can drive now around the 1-2k rpm range and oil pressure is fine and runs good but if press gas or get into high 2 or anywhere near the 3k rpm range it maxes out I don’t know what’s wrong I have brought to many mechanics there is no engine light and they all tell me it’s done well yes the job that you did is done but the problem is still not fixed in three months I have spent more money on the car then needed also was missing a lug nut and needed to be re threaded just don’t know what I should do anymore with this car I want to make sure that it will last so I don’t know what it needs to fix so basically if I press gas down hard it sputters or get into over 2k rpm range sputters and also when oil pressure gets into the high 5 right before sputtering get a metal Shaking sound idk what that is same problem or different please help
If you have a loan you can always trade it in and finance something else. The dealership will pay off the old loan and roll it into the new loan. Normally I don't recommend doing that because you incure negative equity but in your case it can be a good way to get rid of an endless moneypit that you have a lien against.
Sounds like you got a car that was never maintained and mistreated. Including oil changes. Your oil pressure is probably spiking because the engine is full of sludge. This is why we always stress have a mechanic look it over BEFORE you buy. Are you stuck in it with a loan or can you dump it? Maybe see if Carmax will buy it.
Yea I’m in a loan with it well I don’t know it runs good and I look up problems and there’s fuel injectors or other things I don’t know if it’s a complete lemon definitely wasn’t treated correctly but I think can be fixed it runs good when oil pressure is in the right numbers but yea I don’t know no engine light and last mechanic was very trustworthy and good he said he ran yea and nothing so I don’t know what to do next
Order you a cheap boroscope for 20-25 bucks that works with your phone. Next oil change stick it up in the pan, or in the valve cover. See how bad the sludge is. Eventually it can clog oil ports then fry your cam or bearings,
