Hi Scotty -
Back in the late 60s, my grandfather showed me that, 1) when backing up in reverse to press the brake pedal quickly and firmly to "ADJUST" the brakes to prevent them from wearing out prematurely, and 2) right before you turn off your car, gently press the accelerator to between 2k and 3k rpm to juice up the alt/battery in an effort to make them last longer. This may or may not work as a preventative maintenance exercise, but I've always done it (and still do 50 yrs later). Please tell me that I'm not hurting anything on my car. Thanks for your good work!
I still love my Buick!

This is all unnecessary and can cause harm to the car.
