Would it be a smart idea to spray undercoating before winter hits?

I have a 2017 Mazda 3, I ran over a curb a few months back and messed up some of the pinch weld on the one side, would it be a smart idea to spray undercoating on it before winter hits?

Why were you distracted?

No, rubberized undercoating will make it worse.

It depends on what you mean by "messed up" and how bad it is. Photos would be helpful.

Probably a few coats of paint will do the trick.

Part of the bottom of the one pinch weld was peeled back a bit so I just cut it off, so If I’m thinking correctly there is some exposed metal or aluminum or whatever it is.
