Used Car Buy! Help! - 1992 Toyota Celica ST 35k Miles

Hello all!

There is a '92 Toyota Celica ST (automatic) with only 35k miles for sale in my area.

The private seller is asking $6,000 for it. Any advice on what I should offer? Or should I even get this?

Apparently it was owned by an elderly couple and they have always put it in the garage with a cover during winters. It looks pristine.

Thanks so much for any opinions!

Sounds about $4,000 too expensive for a 30-year-old Toyota.

Make sure the dial wasn't rolled back. Take the car in for an inspection. If it is 30k miles clean the mechanic will be able to tell.

Elderly couple with a low sporty car that they drive 1200 miles a year? Put a cover on the car when it is already in a garage? This is either a bald-faced outright lie, or the most unusual elderly couple in America.

Bullseye!

This sounds really fishy to me.  Have it thoroughly checked out before even considering making an offer.

What do you want to do with basically a 30 years old Toyota Corolla?

Why is your 40 year old Celica worth having but the OP's car not?

Anything is possible. Sure have it checked out and offer less for it.

Give the Lady a break.

I noticed under your name, you have an 81,83,93. 96 toyota.
