[Solved] Should I buy this Avalon?

Hey Scotty, I am interested in buying a 2010 Toyota Avalon Limited with 125,000 miles on it from a private seller. Owner is a senior that can’t drive anymore and is asking for 6,500 with but the car has minor scrapes on the bumper. If it checks out with a private mechanic, what is a good price? Thanks!

Use the pre-existing scratches to get a lower price. Avalons are great cars. I would talk him down to about $6,200 and use the pre-existing scratches as a good excuse to lower the price.

Excellent cars, but make sure that mechanic checks the power steering rack. They tend to leak but if the leak is not much (not dripping on the ground), it is fine.

If a professional mechanic says it’s in great shape, jump on it before somebody else does. The market is crazy right now..

All the best!
