I would like your input on a used F150 or Toyota Tundra with V8 or another vehicle for a snow plow truck to replace my current truck. I am currently using a 1998 Chevy Silverado Z71 with 198,00 miles. I put on less than 3,000 miles a year. Mechanically in very good shape but the rust is an issue. Not an everyday use vehicle. Chevy's all seem to rust out in the same places. Would cost about $6,000.00 to replace all the rusted areas for now. You had a video saying this was one of Chevy's good years. I know the vehicle is probably only worth about $3,000.00. Also, I had the shift cable break. I thought all vehicles used solid linkage. Scary since the emergency brake didn't work. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Love your videos.
How about a Ford F250 Super Duty? Diesels would be better choices for plow work. A lot of torque and made for tough work like that.
Eh honestly both wouldn’t be a bad choice for the plow. Ford will be cheaper but it’s up to you and what deals you find.
I wouldn't use anything less that a 3/4 ton for plowing. And make sure you have a very large auxiliary trans cooler.
