Soctty -My 2002 Camry lost a quart of oil because the fuel filter was loose. The car calls for 5W30 and the store only had 10W30. Will that cause problems?

5w30 is the most common type of oil and can be found EVERYWHERE. Next time go to a different store.

But it sounds like you already put it in. 1 quart isn't be a big deal. You can leave it there.

Just a quart won't hurt but my question is who runs out of 5w-30? {black}:amazed: {blackemo}:exhausted:

I know - it's really weird that a store runs out of 5W30 - but in a small town it happens.

I had the oil changed about 500 miles later anyways.

Don’t worry. I agree with MMJ. 1 qt of 10 weight won’t hurt it.

It might, It may not - Probably not, a quart isn't that much.

Check your owners manual, many cars can run on multiple types - the question only really being how these oils mix.

I've never seen a parts store not having 5W-30, that's like what about 90% of cars use, although a lot of modern cars nowadays don't.

Also here's an explanation about using a different type of oil than your engine was meant for.

Also maybe tell this guy where you go the oil 😅

My guess is it's one of those supply chain issues. It took about a year to get AT-205 again.
