Hey Scotty, I have a 1995 Acura Legend LS automatic transmission. I recently did a valve cover/Intake manifold gasket replacement on my engine and when I started her up I noticed a ticking coming from the rocker assembly that wasn’t there before, along with what sounded like a misfire. Starter her up again the following the day and the misfire was gone but the ticking noise only got a bit quieter. I did this job outside during the Texas cold fronts and used a trash bag to cover the valves over night. What could this be and should I be worried? Uses an OBD1 and everything shows fine in the dash.
Thanks!
Well, if you want to pinpoint the ticking you did all that work. It could be that an ignition coil got somewhat damaged and it's ticking because it's shorting out making a ticking sound. Try to use the stethoscope to figure out where the sound's coming from
