Valve cover gasket replacement

Hey Scotty. I am planning to work on my '98 Toyota 4Runner with 205k miles soon. I plan to change the Valve Cover Gaskets on my own. I also do notice some drips of oil in the bottom rear of the engine and want to clean it once done with the replacement. What can I do about that? What are some tips to consider when doing the replacement? And should I use OEM parts? I want to do it on my own so I can learn and because my mechanic quoted me $650 dollars for everything, but I know it can be more than that. Thank you for your input.

Any good brand of gasket, such as Felpro, should be just fine. Though if you can get OEM at a reasonable price might as well go that route.
