Van won't crank

Topic starter

I have a 2002 Pontiac montana that won't crank. It's not the starter or solenoid. The relay clicks when ignition turned to start. Dash lights headlights radio all come on. It turns over when I short out the starter with the ignition on but doesn't start. Most people say its the ignition switch. My question is would the relay still click if I needed a ignition switch. The power is going through the ignition switch to the relay. Also I seen a video where a guy just cleaned the contacts in the ignition switch. Is that okay to do. I

Check your battery and engine to body grounding connections for corrosion and looseness.

If you can disassemble the ignition switch to a point where you can clean the contacts, I salute you. Nobody else on the planet can.

Check your oil you could have a blown engine because of low oil… hope you don’t have that problem it’s a pain the the rear when you find out it’s because of low oil.

No its not low oil or a blown engine.

If you thing about it it could because of no oil

The oil level is good. I check my oil level regularly.

Ok
