Hi Scotty, I have a 2005 Ford Ranger Edge 3.0 Manual transmission, just under 94k miles. After a long 1hr drive in AZ (105f), I turned it off for 1 minute, then it didn't start, let it set for 25 minutes, then it starts. Vapor lock? Thank you Scotty
Well modern cars normally cannot get vapor locks because the fuel pump is inside the gas tank soaked and cool gasoline so no vapor can be created that the pump would suck on and not work cuz it's soaked in liquid gasoline. More often. Something like that is a fuel pump that's actually wearing out or an engine that is flooding itself out. So when the finally does start if you get black smoke that means it's flooding out. If you don't, it usually means the fuel pump is going out and not pumping or the computer is not sending the electricity to the pump when it sits
Thank you so much Scotty, and I think I'll check my battery, if it's low it could affect CM to fuel pump, I'm guessing.
