Hi Scotty.
Hope you are well.
I have a 2006 Opel/Vauxhall Corsa Lite 1.4L
I'm experiencing high idle issues +-4k RPM at idle
I noticed my earth/Ground wire was bad , so I changed it. Still the same , I removed the tps Sensor connector idle dropped to +-2k RPM.
No check engine light came on prior to removing the TPS sensor connector , once removed , the engine light comes on.
I then cleaned the Idle Control Valve , no changes (prior to removing the TPS Sensor connector) and also the the throttle body.
I checked for vacuum leaks , didn't find any - all hoses from the MAP Sensor till and MAF Sensor - no visible hissing / leaks , sprayed soapy solution as a contingency plan to check for bubbles , nothing.
Car has about 150k Kms mileage or around 90k Miles on it.
Put it on a scanner , no faults thrown.
Car is my daily to work and back and I'm feeling the pinch with fuel economy.
My questions are
What can I look for?
What will cause the irratic idle?
What is your best solution?
I don't want to spend thousands of Rand's (I'm from South Africa) on obsolete parts.
All the mechanics here either give the same story or a different one.
Please advise as it will be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried replacing the TPS sensor? it might have just gone out.
If you are absolutely positively sure you do not have vacuum leaks you either have a computer failure or the throttle is physically broken internally and that assembly needs replacing
