Hi Scotty,
I'm in the market for a V6 Highlander.
I see that 2017+ ones have the 2GR-FKS engine with GDI and 8 speed AT which is plagued with problems and lawsuits.

Am I better off getting the 2010-2016 models with the tried and trued 2GR-FE and 6 speed AT or would you recommend the 2017+ ones?
Thank you!
Definitely 2015-2016 or older. And yea those 6 speeds are much better.

Much appreciated! I will check out the link.

The 6 speed transmission passed all the tests and proven to be reliable. Although the 8 speed gets a bit better gas mileage but I don’t trust it and I would rather lower gas mileage but more dependable.
@yaser
Good points! Thank you!
