Verdict on GM Small-block V8 LT1 and LT4

What is the verdict on reliability (both up to 100,000 and 200,000 miles) on GM’s small-block V8 LT1 and LT4 engines, which have been out since 2014?   Also, of all the current GM engines in production where would these rank in terms of reliability relative to the other GM engines?  Both are GDI with the LT1 NA and LT4 supercharged.

I ask out of curiosity since I have friends still buying GM vehicles (with some of those engines) and would like some insight into those specific engines’ reliability (or lack thereof).

GDI engines suffer from valve buildup.

@mountainmanjoe, do you know on these 2 LT engines how bad the carbon buildup problem is? I know some GDIs have the buildup sooner than other engines, but they all have it at some point.

I couldn't tell ya. I would try joining a high performance gm forum with corvettes and camaros and ask the guys there.
