Hi skotty big fan watched many of your vidioes my question is i have a 1998 r129 mercedes sl 2.8 shes a good girl but iv had a few issues when i bought her seller was a bit iffy lol windsreen wiper mechanisem faulty and few trim related things but iv done all that any way back to the question i have vibration on the car cannot pin point where its comming from not front end nothing there wheel wobble ect dont think its rear end as iv just had the alloys refurbed and asked the lads to check wheels and tyres for flat spots and buckeling i had it checked over buy our AA services that came back with everything ok that they can see you cannot realy feal the vibration you can hear it more than anything little bit through the seats it happens around 50 mph nothing at all before that quiet as a mouse plenty of power realy good condition iv bought it as a investment car as iv been told values are going to sky rocket it was this or an old uk ford capri but yhey want telephone numbers for these 15 to 20 k for desent ones any way i,m rattling on any ideas where or what to check cheers ivan from uk england
I hate to bust your bubble but that thing's never going to be worth any serious money. But find a good alignment shop and have them check all the alignment tires balance everything first.then if it's not that have all the drive shafts and joints checked and pray it's not the transmission causing the vibration
Had the transmition checked by specialist and apart from dirty oil which i,m going to do everything is fine as for them not being wirth much it was advertised at 10k after some hagaling i git it for 7.5 k these cars over here are wirth minimum 8 k for desent ones 20k realy low milage minters mines inbetween any way i,ll get the prop and rive shafts checked been reading it could be a centre prop bearing which at most costs about 30 pound i can do that myself i,m a bit like you old school i dont like new cars most are crap or put together by monkeys lol prices of parts are a fraction ofvyhe price of us prices for eg a battery with a 4 year warrenry for mine around 50 to 70 pound iv seen same batterys on ebay us for well over 100 doller and its nearley pound for pound any way stay safe look after your self and thanks for help ivan
