Even if was low mileage, not unless you got it for peanuts.
Pass on it. You got the unholy trinity of VW (bad at least here in North America), high mileage, and age (out of warranty).
How much are they asking for it? In general if you want it to last and be reliable I wouldn't suggest the Jetta. VW cars are expensive when it comes to repairs and parts and especially those with electronics will just add to your headache. And this one is very high mileage so I would say pass unless getting it for super cheap.
They are asking $5000.
They recently put new brake pads and rotors on it.
I agree with @itwt response; that's too much for that car.
