Hi,
Volvo S80, 2002, 2.9i , GM 4T65 trans
I can hear a very subtle whining noises at certain driving between RPM 1500-2000 when the car is in working temperature. Not in cold.
It is a barely audible noise, even the car AC louder than that. It may be not a big thing, but the noise is constantly here everyday, so it can be a warn sign for a car part becomes worn.
No whining noise below or above that. No noise when cold.
We thought that it may be the engine belts and pulleys, so we replaced them to new but noise still here.
I tested out to put the car into Neutral and I heard the whining noise in neutral too when 1700-1900rpm
Tried to make a video with highligting the noise parts of it.
Anyone?
It's difficult to hear your noise from the audio clip. Have someone ride along with you and see if they can help you pinpoint the location. A bit more expensive measure like this can help as Scotty refers to here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy5nqh3LSs4
Be aware that Scotty himself will only view videos if posted to youtube.
