2005 ford explorer sport Trac. Brakes work fine when abs light is on. When abs light is off . Brakes make a crunchy sound like pushing on a big spring.

Wow! Your ABS light should not be on that shows you of a problem with the system. Often. It's a bad modulator assembly on those. Have a mechanic check that with his fancy scan tool
